AAPI Leadership Summit

Our inaugural AAPI Leadership Summit brought together leaders from the corporate, philanthropic, government, media, and non-profit worlds to collaborate on solutions for key issues impacting the AAPI community. From inspiring fireside chats with Board members Jerry Yang, Joseph Bae, and Joe Tsai to a keynote by trailblazer Helen Zia to discussions with leaders across all sectors, the takeaways were clear:

  • We need to be in this together and we will lose this fight if we focus on our own agendas.
  • We need to recognize the deep history and challenges of all the  ethnicities making up AAPI identity, especially Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders.
  • It is our responsibility to provide support for future generations of leaders.
  • We need to fight to belong. Representation only matters when we feel like we belong.

With the incredible expertise and experience in the room, attendees then worked together to find opportunities of intersection in their work through breakout sessions led by Bain & Company. Bain & Company created a capture book to highlight key takeaways and emerging themes from the discussions. The document serves as a starting point for further discussions. View it here.
