The AAPI Giving Challenge Raises $1.1 Billion Commitment For AAPI Communities

The AAPI Giving Challenge unlocks resources for the AAPI community so that our leadership and power can be fully realized.

The Asian American and Pacific Islander community has been underfunded and under-resourced. The Asian American Foundation is uniting America to come together in support of the Asian American community.

TAAF called on foundations, corporations, and individuals, in partnership with The Ford Foundation,  the MacArthur Foundation, and our partners to join the AAPI Giving Challenge and raised nearly $1.1 Billion to support AAPI communities and causes. This is just the beginning. Together, we will change funding, resourcing, and representation for the AAPI community.

“TAAF was founded to close critical gaps of support for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and end the longstanding underinvestment in our communities. Today’s historic announcement sends a clear signal to the 23 million AAPIs living in this country that TAAF and our AAPI Giving Challenge partners are here to upend the status quo in favor of a better, brighter future for AAPI communities.

The AAPI Giving Challenge was created to invite other funders, leaders, and philanthropists to the table to help TAAF advance our mission. We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support we’ve received in such a short period of time. It’s amazing to know that we are not alone in wanting to lift up AAPI communities. There’s a long list of organizations and people who are joining us to say the time for change is now.”
